Shirt monograms set your custom made shirts apart with a touch
of elegance that is yours alone. Once reserved to the few, monograms have
become quite popular and make a personal statement even in reserved settings.
We can add monograms to any of the custom dress shirts that we create.
Although fancy patterns are possible, we recommend simple, clean
lettering so the initials are discrete and easy to decipher. The most popular
location is the cuff. A perfect combination is French cuffs with a monogram
centered on the pocket, as well. Custom dress shirts without pockets are
usually monogrammed using European placement: The monogram is placed of the
left panel where the pocket would normally be about five or six inches above
the waist. Monograms may also be placed on the bottom of the shirt tail, a
common practice for laundry identification. Customers frequently ask, "Which
initials do I use, and how are they arranged?" Many customers like a monogram
style with the middle initial featured prominently. In this case, it is
customary to place the first letter of your surname in the middle. If you
prefer that all three letters be of equal size, then the order is first, middle
and last initial, just as you would write your full name.
Whether or not to monogram your shirt is a very personal
decision. MyTailor.com offers monogramming without charge on all custom dress
shirts.
